New Program To Fund Multicultural Infrastructure In Sa

South Australia’s Expand Together infrastructure program can assist multicultural groups applying for infrastructure funding.

The program is one of three core funding streams for multicultural communities in the state.

Under the scheme, organisations can apply for up to $100,000 for equipment or infrastructure, with co-contribution for applications above $50,000. Projects are to be delivered over 12 months.

The infrastructure grants assist organisations to grow their capacity and meet the needs of South Australia’s culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

The four categories of the Expand Together program are:

The previous round of the scheme included funding for a new roof at the Altavilla Irpina Sports and Social Club, equipment upgrades for the Multicultural Youth SA, and stage and audio equipment for the Association of Ukrainians in South Australia.

“Multicultural groups throughout South Australia are a real focal point for communities,” said Nadia Clancy, State Minister for Multicultural Affairs.

“The South Australian Government recognises the important role they play in supporting people to come together and celebrate their language, traditions and culture.

“It’s important the halls and other venues that host these groups are properly resourced and in good working order, and this grant program is aimed at doing just that.”

Applications are open now and close on 31 July.
