More than 30,000 motorists who use Windsor Road each day are set to benefit from reduced congestion, with the New South Wales Government committing an additional $190 million in the 2026-27 Budget to progress the Windsor Road upgrade at Rouse Hill.

The funding brings the State Government’s contribution to $200 million, matching the Federal Government’s commitment to the $400 million project.

The upgrade is designed to improve road capacity, traffic flow and safety, while supporting public transport connections and improving access to the future Rouse Hill Hospital.

Key works include intersection upgrades at Windsor Road and Commercial Road, widening Windsor Road between Mile End Road and Commercial Road to three lanes plus a bus lane in each direction, construction of a new shared path along the eastern side of Windsor Road, and new and upgraded bus infrastructure linking the T-way to Mile End Road.

The project is expected to ease traffic pressure on local roads and provide more reliable journeys for residents, commuters and freight operators in one of Sydney’s fastest-growing regions.

The investment forms part of more than $7.4 billion allocated by the New South Wales Government to Western Sydney road projects since 2023, including upgrades to Richmond Road, Fifteenth Avenue and Elizabeth Drive.
